Brown’s bottle in the dishwasher and some helpful tricks to get a safe and thoroughly clean bottle out of the dishwasher

Are Dr Brown Bottles Dishwashers Safe?

Dr. Brown clearly understands the hassles of being a new mom. That’s why they made their bottle completely dishwasher safe. It means all the parts of the Dr. Brown bottle, including its nipple, vent, and caps, are compatible with the dishwasher.

However, you should place the bottle on the top shelf of the dishwasher for secure cleaning.

How To Wash Dr Brown Bottle Using The Dishwasher?

Though Dr. Brown’s bottles are dishwasher safe, it doesn’t mean you will get a safe and clean bottle every time you use a dishwasher.

Cleaning a plastic bottle requires a safe yet appropriate process to make the task successful.

Take the bottle apart

You must disassemble the Dr. Brown bottle before putting it in the dishwasher. Take its cap, nipple, nipple collar, vent reservoir, vent insert, travel disc, and other parts apart.

Place all the parts in the basket

During washing, little parts of a bottle can fall down to the bottom of the dishwasher and get damaged by contact with the heating element.

Place all the small parts of the dishwasher in the basket so they can remain safe while running the cycle.

Place the bottle on the top rack

Place the bottle on the top of the dishwasher rack

Now place the bottle on the top rack of the dishwasher. The reason is that Dr. Brown’s bottles are made of plastic.

These may appear to be strong, but if exposed to heat, they will dissolve and cause damage. So putting the bottle on the top rack is a major safety precaution.

Run the dishwasher

After placing all the parts and bottle security in the dishwasher, add some detergent and turn it on.

Though you can apply any of your preferred cycles, the sanitizer cycle is more helpful.

After completing the washing cycle, run a dry cycle to steam clean the bottle and its parts.

Dry the bottle

Though the dishwasher will produce an almost dried bottle, there may still be some residual moisture on the parts.

Wipe the bottle and its parts with a towel to thoroughly dry them. You can also leave all the parts out to air dry for a few hours to make them dry completely before reassembling.

Clean the Dr Brown Bottles by Hand

Disassemble the bottle

Typically, Dr. Brown’s bottles have more components than other baby bottles. To clean the bottle manually, you must disassemble all its parts.

Make a solution in the kitchen sink

Take a clean kitchen shank and fill it with hot water. Then mix some dishwashing liquid into the water and make a solution.

Soak the bottle in the solution

Now place your Dr. Brown bottle and its parts into the solution and wait for around 30 minutes.

Once the bottle soaks in the warm soapy water properly, scrub it and all parts thoroughly with a small brush.

Scrub all the grooves, holes, and other nooks to clean the bottle completely. Some of Dr.

Rinse the bottle thoroughly

The next task is to drain the soapy water out of the kitchen sink.

Simply turn the faucet on and rinse the parts with warm water to prevent any remaining soapy or dirty water.

While rinsing the bottle components, make sure the nipple hole has been cleaned completely.

Dry the bottle completely

Dry the bottle and all other pieces completely before reassembling them. It’s good practice to prevent mold from growing. You can store all the parts in a drying rack overnight to make them dry completely.

Is sterilization still necessary?

Sterilizing the Dr. Brown bottle helps remove the bacteria that can cause vomiting or diarrhea in your baby.

Though some people suggest sterilizing the Dr. Brown bottle only if a harbor of bacteria exists in the tap water, you shouldn’t be too lenient, especially when it is related to the baby’s safety.

Sanitizing the Dr Brown Bottles by Boiling

Disassemble the bottle

Before sterilizing Dr. Brown’s bottle, disassemble the bottle and its components.

Then wash them with your desired method, whether it is in the dishwasher or by hand. A new Dr. Brown bottle is also essential to sanitize.

Fill the pot with water

Collect a medium or large container to sterilize the bottle. Add enough water to the container so you can soak the bottle and other pieces properly, both lying down and standing up.

Boil the water

Now set the pot on the stovetop and start heating the water until it boils. It may take around 10 minutes.

Soak the bottle parts in water

While boiling the water, carefully add your Dr. Brown bottle and its components to the pot and wait for 5 minutes. Use a pair of tongs to place the bottle in the boiling water safely.

Turn off the heat

Now shut the heat off and remove the container from the stove. Wait around half an hour to let the water cool.
